Turkey

Turkey, officially the Republic of Türkiye, is a transcontinental country located primarily on the Anatolian Peninsula in Western Asia, with a small portion on the Balkan Peninsula in Southeast Europe.

Tourism in Turkey has grown almost every year in the 21st century and is an important part of the Turkish economy. The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism is currently promoting Turkish tourism through the Turkey Home project. Turkey is one of the top ten destination countries in the world, with the highest proportion of foreign visitors coming from Europe, particularly Germany and Russia in recent years. Turkey ranked sixth in the world in terms of international tourist arrivals in 2019, trailing only Italy, with 51.2 million foreign visitors. Turkey has 19 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and an additional 84 World Heritage Sites on the list. Turkey has 519 Blue Flag beaches, putting it in third place in the world.
